EIT Health Shines at Health.Tech Conference 2024: A Showcase of Innovation and Collaboration

Published on July 11, 2024

EIT Health made a significant impact at this year's Health.Tech Conference, demonstrating its commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration in the healthcare sector. The conference, held over two days, featured the grand finale of the Catapult programme, numerous engaging sessions, and a highly attended EIT Health booth.

The first day of the conference kicked off with the much-anticipated finale of the EIT Health Catapult programme. This event highlighted some of the most promising health tech startups, providing them with a platform to showcase their innovations to a global audience of industry leaders, investors, and healthcare professionals. On the second day, EIT Health took centre stage at the Eurovision platform, organizing and co-organizing several pivotal sessions.

EIT Health Innovators community was also showcased by Catherine Schreiber, a prominent member of the EIT Health Innovators community that led the session “Scaling up: best practices on how to unleash your startup’s potential”. Catherine shared her expertise on scaling startups and emphasized the importance of founder well-being for entrepreneurial success. Reflecting on her experience, she said, "The EIT Health Innovators community invited me to lead a deep dive at the Health.Tech event in Munich. This gave me the opportunity to share my expertise in scaling a start-up and emphasize the importance of founder well-being for entrepreneurial success. I benefited in many ways from participating at the event: increased visibility, (re-)connecting with super interesting innovators, as well as gaining interesting insights into the European Health Data Space, the pros and cons of the German DiGa system, and additional EIT Health initiatives like the WorkInHealth Foundation and the Future Health HERo Initiative. Thank you, EIT Health, for this great opportunity!"

The EIT Health booth was a bustling hub of activity, drawing participants with its dynamic schedule of events. The booth spotlighted various EIT Health programmes, including the WorkInHealth Foundation and the Future Health HERo initiative. These initiatives conducted interviews and engaged with attendees, furthering their mission to empower women in healthcare and promote the healthcare ecosystem. A special meeting with Amazon Web Services (AWS) added another layer of insight and collaboration opportunities.

EIT Health’s commitment to its innovators was further evidenced by the provision of free tickets to startups within the EIT Health Innovators community. Three tickets were swiftly claimed by Dr. Oshin Behl of Sentient Health, Sandra Paz de Lucas of Empident, and Jonas Eicher of InformMe. Sandra Paz de Lucas shared her gratitude, stating, "Health.Tech is one of the most interesting events for startups in the health field. Thanks to EIT Health, I had the great opportunity to attend the event. There were numerous talks by great speakers on diverse topics such as regulations, product development, and market entry in the health sector. It also provided a valuable platform to connect with investors and exchange experiences and knowledge with other startups."

Overall, EIT Health's presence at the Health.Tech Conference 2024 was a resounding success. The combination of insightful sessions, dynamic booth activities, and opportunities for community engagement underscored EIT Health’s role as a leader in driving healthcare innovation and collaboration.
