Highlights from the First EIT Health Innovators Community Board Meeting of 2025

Last week, the beautiful city of Málaga, Spain, served as the perfect backdrop for the first EIT Health Innovators Community Board meeting of the year. This annual gathering is a cornerstone event for the community, providing an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the past year and chart a strategic course for the year ahead.

Shaping 2025: A Collaborative Vision

The meeting brought together key Board members - Miriam, Robin, Ismael, Elisa, Calil, Essam, and Mia - who joined in person, with the rest of the Board connecting online. Over two days, the Board engaged in meaningful discussions to align visions, brainstorm new ideas, and refine the strategic focus for the year.

“Strategic planning in action!” Ismael shared on LinkedIn. “It was incredibly insightful to meet in person with all the amazing friends and colleagues involved, aligning visions, brainstorming ideas, and setting the course for what’s next. Exciting actions are coming soon!”

While the agenda was packed with productive sessions, the gathering also emphasised the importance of human connection. From shared meals to casual runs and sports, the event fostered camaraderie and balance, reminding everyone that innovation thrives when community bonds are strong.

Spotlight on the Spanish Community

Taking advantage of the Málaga setting, the Board also hosted a dedicated strategic meet-up with the Spanish Community. This session brought together Spanish members, Local Representatives, as well as Antonio Rodríguez, Entrepreneurship Lead at EIT Health Spain.

Antonio’s participation added a valuable perspective, offering insights into EIT Health Spain’s programmes and how they align with the community’s vision for the coming year. Discussions during this session revolved around new initiatives for the Spanish network, with a focus on driving entrepreneurship and innovation locally.

“Great discussions, impactful ideas, and an even stronger community moving forward!” Ismael reflected after the meeting.
